About Your Hosts:

Kim began her bookselling career in 2004 at a little used bookshop in Denver, CO. She spent her college years slinging books at a Barnes & Noble in Massachusetts before moving to Portland, OR, to work at Powell's Books. After five years at Powell's, she moved to the East Coast to help open WORD Bookstore's Jersey City location, where she met Emma. Kim returned to the Pacific Northwest in 2015 where she worked at the Elliott Bay Book Company in Seattle, WA. She is the incoming manager of Third Place Books Seward Park. Her Twitter is boring and infrequent because all book-related tweets go to @DrunkBookseller, but if you insist on following her, you can find her at @FinaleOfSeem.

Though Emma expected to grow up to be a librarian, or a witch, she’s quite happy with her career as a bookseller. She helped open WORD Bookstore's Jersey City location—where she met Kim—before moving out West to work at the Elliott Bay Book Company in Seattle, WA. When not evangelizing her favorite books to unsuspecting customers and podcast listeners she can be found writing for Book Riot and tweeting from @thebibliot

Our theme music, Bitches in Bookshops, comes to us with permission from the brilliant Annabelle Quezada. And there’s a Rap Genius page for the song and it’s A-MAZE-ING. Seriously, y’all. Check it out.
